Frequently Asked Questions

Can ATO debt be refinanced?

Potentially. There are lenders that will consider refinancing ATO debt for eligible established businesses. The available solution will depend on your business performance, financial position, credit history, security and overall circumstances.

Can several business loans be consolidated?

Existing business loans and other eligible facilities may sometimes be refinanced into a more manageable structure; subject to lender assessment. You may also need to close the old loan facility for servicing requirements.

Can you refinance an overdraft?

Yes; depending on why the overdraft is being used and the financial position of the business, we can look at whether keeping, restructuring or replacing the facility makes sense.

Do I need property security?

Not necessarily. Both secured and unsecured business lending options exist; the most appropriate structure depends on the size of the lending request and strength of the business.

What information will you need?

For an initial assessment I will generally want to understand your existing debts and review recent business bank statements and BAS. Additional documents may be required depending on the lending structure.
It could be a mixture of:
- Latest 1 year personal Tax Return supported by;

- Latest ATO Notice of Assessment;
- Latest Company Tax Return; AND

- Financial statements (including Profit & Loss and balance sheets);

- 12 months business bank statements
- ID for verification
- Property information
...and more

Will refinancing definitely lower my repayments?

It all depends on your highest goal; cash flow relief, interest charged overall, structure or timing.
The purpose of the review is to determine whether refinancing creates a genuine improvement after considering interest rates, loan terms, fees, repayments and the overall lending structure.

Will it effect my credit score?

Only with your permission. As a broker I can get access to your credit report without lodging an enquiry. In most cases, we can do a lender enquiry before application, to ascertain your likelihood of approval. Otherwise you will be advised when a check will be processed.

MEET THE director & lead broker

Hi, I’m Katherine; Founder of First Look Finance.

I’ve spent more than 10 years working across banking, finance and property; but what I enjoy most is helping people make sense of the opportunities sitting in front of them.

Business finance can be complex because lenders don’t just look at the business. They may consider your experience, character, financial position, available security and how the deal itself is structured.

I work with Australian business owners to understand the full picture before approaching lenders; helping identify realistic funding options, potential roadblocks and what may need to be strengthened before an application is submitted.

I’m not interested in simply finding a loan and moving on. I believe good finance should support the bigger business plan; whether that means buying your first business, acquiring an existing location, expanding into multiple sites or helping your profit margin grow.

First Look Finance; your first look, first solution.
